The International Campaign for the release of Georges Abdallah stages a sit in
The International Campaign for the release of Georges Abdallah staged on Wednesday a sit in outside the Beirut Bar Association's House of lawyers.
In this context, Joseph Abdallah, Georges Abdallah's brother, pointed out that Lebanese authorities are not acting over Abdallah's case, urging the government to take more serious measures concerning this matter.
Protestors declared that the next movement will be held next Sunday outside the French embassy.
Abdallah was jailed 28 years ago over attacks on U.S. and Israeli diplomats in France, despite that French law limits the maximum sentence of any prisoner to 18 years.
The French judiciary decided Thursday the 10th of January 2013 to release Lebanese national George Ibrahim Abdallah "provided that he be deported", however the decision was deferred for unknown reason.
